HONEY
LOST DOG AS OF NOVEMBER 9, 2009...Please look out for her in the Spring area!!
I am a 3 year old gentle girl dog.  My vet said I am a German Shepherd mix of some kind.  I need a new family. My current family would like to keep me, but they had to move in with my mom’s parents, and I can’t stay with them.  Mom’s parents don’t understand that I need to be with my human family as a pack and in the house as well as the yard in order to be happy and behave well.  My dad is recovering from cancer treatment and my mom is due with a third human baby in early January.  They are just overwhelmed and don’t even have time or energy for walks that I crave right now.
I love children (my two human brothers are 5 and 2), and other animals.  I have shared a home with multiple cat friends.  We always seem to work things out.
My ideal home is one with lots of love. I have lots of energy, and need a yard for running. I love to take walks and am teachable to let you lead.  I especially love to snuggle up on the floor at your feet or by the bed at night. I don’t think it possible that you could pet me too much, but you can try.
I am spayed, have my rabies shot and heartworm medication up to date.  My last vet visit showed I am a healthy girl.  Please contact my mom for further information, more photographs and a phone interview.

Banshee was an indoor/outdoor girl living with an elderly woman with Alzheimers.  Another dog beat her up quite badly, with a number of serious bites, but the woman couldn't comprehend that her dog was seriously injured.  A rescuer took Banshee in and nursed her back until she could walk and run again.  Banshee needs her own loving home.  She loves people and loves to interact with her person chasing balls and soft  frisbees.  She also enjoys playing tug, and going for walks.  She is about 40 pounds and very energetic.  She is thought to be a white German Shepherd mix.

Banshee is very frisky, fun loving, and affectionate.  She is spayed and has had her shots but needs to be updated.  If you would like to know more about Banshee, write to eginden2@yahoo.com.

SNOOPY & HONEY-BEAR
I’m Snoopy, I’m a 1 1/2 year old, German Shepherd mix (some suspect 1/2 Border Collie).  I’ve been called “tall, dark and handsome” and my Foster Mom says it looks like I’m wearing a “Tuxedo and gloves.”  I’m neutered and about 75 lbs.  You could call me a gentle giant; everyone says I’m very smart, animated and outgoing.  I’m trained in basic commands including: sit, down, stay, go, outside, inside, go to your place, roll over, shake and even some hand signals.  I’m a perfect gentleman (yes, I’m fully housetrained) and I’ll let you know when I need to go outside and back inside.  I’m also leash-trained and I’m trained to run along with a bike and stay on the trail.  I LOVE to give lots of kisses and I absolutely LOVE playing fetch, my chew toys, running on the beach and getting plenty of belly rubs and treats.  On another note I’m not a big fan of cats.  You should know I’m very bonded to my little sister Honey-Bear (It would be so great if we could be adopted together).  I have lots of energy and I would do great in a home with active adults and teens to play with and walk/run daily.  NOTE: I am only at the shelter on Weekends.

My name is Honey-Bear and I’m a 1 1/2 year old, German Shepherd mix.  I’m a brown-eyed blonde and I’ve been called “Pretty” on numerous occasions but I don’t let it get to my head, of course.  I have one floppy ear, isn’t it cute?  My foster mom says I’m a “True lady.”  I’m spayed and a graceful 45 lbs.  You could call me; affectionate, a little shy but VERY sweet.  I just LOVE attention, praise, belly rubs, chew toys and running on the beach!  Oh, I’m not only cute I’m smart too; I’m trained in basic commands including: sit, down, stay, go, outside, inside, go to your place, roll over, shake and even some hand signals.  I’m a perfect lady (yes, I’m fully housetrained) and I’ll let you know when I need to go outside and back inside.  I’m leash-trained and I’m trained to run along with a bike and stay on the trail.  Just between you and me I’m not a cat-lover.  Just so you know, I LOVE my big brother Snoopy (it would be a dream come true if we could be adopted together).  I have a lot of energy, I would do great in a home with active adults and teens to play with me and walk/run daily.  NOTE: I am only at the shelter on Weekends.  WEfoster-MC.

Cupcake is an adorable Shepherd mix, and as sweet as they come!  Despite a very rough beginning for this young girl, she's adapted incredibly well to life in her foster home.  Only a little over a year, Cupcake is well-mannered, is learning basic commands, and walks nicely on a leash.  She lives with a foster brother and sister, and interacts very well with them, as well as all other dogs she's met.  She's also great with children and likes everyone she's met.  The groomer says she's easy to work with, from bath time to getting her teeth brushed!  This young girl is potty trained and has never had an accident indoors.  Because she's very respectful of her surroundings she's actually never been crated;  I've always come home to find things just as I've left them.  Cupcake's greatest joy comes from pleasing her person!  She is very trainable, loyal, easy-going & will make a wonderful companion.  Cupcake now weighs a healthy 44.5 lbs; she's spayed, microchipped and current on all vaccinations.  If you are interested in meeting Cupcake, please contact txcami@yahoo.com.  832-689-0458

Hi...I just licked Marilyn Monroe's beauty mark off her cheek!  Does that make me a canine sex symbol?  I need a stellar home, indoor privileges, a fenced in back yard, someone who will give me lots of hugs and kisses, and full-on cable.  I will ask that you TIVO the Dog Whisperer, because I want to be the best that I can be.  Oh...and my sleep number is 95.

I was just rescued off the street, huddled and snarling in a corner, in heat for the first time, being circled by two horny males...I was thrilled when Pasheen and Greg came to my rescue.  It only took me moments to trust them, but they have a street pack of five rescue dogs (with serious issues) that I'd really rather not deal with.

I'm a fabulous female, very smart, way too sweet, very friendly, I respond immediately to dog whisperer training techniques, I'm great on a leash, okay I pull a little, but I'm so excited to take walks.  Oh, and I just had my tubes tied. I have shots and my rabies tag.  I'm 35 lbs. and full grown.  I'm still very playful, but very balanced, energetically, not to mention some serious street cred!   No more gang rapes...NO means NO!  They say I'm a little under a year old, healthy and very beautiful...I'm told that I'm a Shepherd/Lab mix...anyway, here I am...they say that you can't pick your parents, but, luckily, they were lookers!

If you should decide to let me love and adore you, there's one thing you should know.  I will get most of the attention when we're out and about.  For some reason, humans find me irresistible!  I hope we can meet soon.  Don't make me resort to E Harmony....or, would that be D Harmony?   Hmmm?

I'm staying in Northwest Houston, in Lakewood Forest, near Cypresswood Drive and Jones.  You can call my assistant,  Pasheen, also known as Pamela, and her boyfriend Greg, and they'll be happy to schedule a play date for us.  I hold court every day of the week, by appointment only.

Phone numbers are:  land line:  281.379.1590  Pasheen's cell:    832.390.9000 email:  pasheen@comcast.net

MAX
Max is a young GSD who has been in the Manvel Animal Pound for several weeks since being found running loose in the area.  A volunteer from Brazoria Co. Humane Society has been trying to find a foster or adoptive home before his time runs out.  A local German Shepherd breeder is also spearheading an effort to save Max.  Here is what she said after going to evaluate him:  "Someone lost a great dog.  He is a young, friendly, big boy, very handsome and sound. Loves to play with a toys, has a very stable temperament. Black & red, nice coat, structure, bone and huge head..."  Max is still a little thin, but other than some sort of problem with his tail that has been causing him to chew it, he seems to be generally healthy and is now in in the process of being vet checked.

Please contact Lynn Goswick at lgoswick@alvincollege.edu if you are interested in finding out more about Max.

Tucker is a beautiful energetic Pointer mix.  He has no health issues. He’s very intelligent, eager to learn, and wants to please.  Of course he’s a puppy, so he will need continued training.  He’s been socialized with other dogs and children. He loves walks, playing fetch, and most of all your attention.  We are working on basic commands .   The hard parts of getting a puppy are done.

Tuckers needs a home that understand he still a puppy and needs his exercise.  We love Tucker, however we were merely keeping him for a friend, to find out he did not want him back.  We already have two dogs (one does not appreciate a puppy in our pack) so we are forced to find him a wonderful

home  where he will get the attention that he well deserves.   Honestly, we would keep him if we could, but it’s not fair to our senior dog to put up with a puppy.

I am asking $200 to defray his neutering cost.

Please email me dominicgustin@comcast.net

TUCKER
TEX
2 yrs., 35-40 lbs. (9/1/10)
Tex is a sweet but extremely shy little girl whose owner rescued her from the pound as a youngster. Her time was up and she was rather unadoptable due to shyness and probable lack of socialization. I don't think she has been out and about much, but she was living comfortably as an only dog in a quiet home with her owner until he died recently from cancer.
Tex is looking for a new home...the same type of home ~ a quiet, low traffic home where she can be the only pet with someone patient and cognizant of her needs. It takes her awhile to warm up. She's never been aggressive with people..just very shy. She is still young, so if someone were to work with her on her socialization skills and training, it may help her blossom and become more confident.
She's not good with cats and has been a little selective and unsure about other dogs but okay with some once acclimated. She's crate trained, house trained, well behaved in the house, likes to take walks, and stay close to her human.
We don't know what breed mixes Tex is..likely some Retriever, possibly Vizsla/Ridgeback ? She's only about 35-40 lbs., so not very big. Poor girl needs a special person to see in her what her owner did and give her some stability and support to help build her confidence. In return, she would love to be your special, loyal friend.
Tex is housetrained and was spayed and vaccinated in April 2009. We believe she has been on heartworm prevention.
